In the early hours of 21st August 2009, Stripes Theatre Company's founder Zach Lee got a call from Rich Whittaker, a man he hadn't seen or heard from for over two decades. Rich's girlfriend had left him after nine years without any warning. He was stuck - with the back rent, the debts and the maxed-out credit cards. So he decided to find out who his friends were.

For exactly one year he become a "Sofa Surfer" - staying on the couches, settees and sofas of a host of people (including Zach) whom he had met during his life. He had three rules:

1. Never stay longer than a week.

2. Only stay if you can perform one return favour.

3. Only ever sleep on the sofa.

In October 2012, three years after Rich's odyssey, the company that brought you the acclaimed 2010 Edinburgh Festival smash hit comedy, Two Brothers And One World Cup (**** - The Scotsman), is proud to take you on a journey you'll never forget.
